Repurposed card

I made this card maybe over a year ago. Originally it had a felt scallop border, but the felt was cut too thin and it tore. It also tore the cardstock underneath. I didn't want to throw out the card; I thought I could maybe use it to recreate the original. I toyed with the idea of using washi tape, but nothing I had complemented the design. I went for glitter tape instead. I used a wide silver glitter , I think by Scotch. It looked too plain, so I went through my glitter tape stash. I bought a huge assorted pack by American Crafts from scrapbook.com. So worth the crazy shipping to my PO Box. I believe it has 24 colors. I decided to layer the plain silver with a teal that matched the felt birds, and it's awesome!
I also added the sentiment from Clearly Bessoted's Sentimental Type in Memento London Fog.

Birthday RAK

So I joined the Birthday Random Acts of Kindness forum over at Splitcoast Stampers and committed to sending 2 cards a month to people with birthdays. These are what I came up with. I am in love with shaker cards and how easy they are to make nowadays.
I used MFT stitched square frames and assorted cardstock from my stash. I have no idea who made the textured orange cardstock or the light pink one. The dark pink is SU! melon mambo. The floral patterned paper is from the Woodland Park collection by October Afternoon. Got an 8" x 8" paper pad from one of the Paper Issues warehouse boxes. I'll be doing shaker cards in darker colors with this same pad, mixing up the solid frames with a patterned paper with a large pattern.
The sentiment die is MFT; it was free because I purchased over $60 worth of products. For the shaker mix, I used seed beads by SSS in white and orange, and sequins by Doodlebug Design's rainbow assortment in pink and yellow, and yellow by Queen & Co. Also used Stephanie Barnard chunky glitter and rhinestones from Ebay. I'm so thankful that I got a small Xyron sticker maker for sentiments, because adhering those thin words would've been very difficult and messy if I had used liquid glue.

Set of thank-you cards

Made these with one of the sheets of paper I got from one of the Paper Issues warehouse boxes. It is by Studio Calico, and from the moment I saw it I knew I had to use it for shaker frames. The back of it was perfect as a contrast frame with the black polka dots on white. As a background for the shakers, I used some more of the same sheet and papers from Kaisercraft Mermaid Tales and My Favorite Things Fun & Frolic patterned paper. The frames were cut with My Favorite Things stitched square frames. I used white textured card stock from Colorbok,  Sweet Blush by Papertrey Ink, a mustard yellow and a dark green from the Stampin' Up Earth Elements assorted pack. I'm not sure what company the thanks die is by. Also used acetate, rainbow assortment sequins by doodlebug, sequins from the Craft Medley Go Green pack, Stephanie Barnard chunky glitter, and seed beads from a multipack by Simon Says Stamp. I'm a little pissed though that the black seed beads are not in fact seed beads; they are like tiny little black sticks.

Inspirational magnet

I took like an hour painting the panel with my kuretake watercolors and a water brush. I stamped the images from Simon Says Stamps sets called Sketch Ranunculus and Roses for You. It is my first time painting with watercolors so my coloring definitely needs practice. Also, I forgot to use the Rangers archival ink, so the Memento ink ran a little when I tried wetting the Neenah Solar White cardstock before applying the watercolor. The letter stickers are by October Afternoon and are called Flash Alpha Orange Soda "Shop Front" and I love them. I need more of these!
